Have you ever heard about the flooded forest? or probably seen one?
It is a forest where on the rainy season water from the river goes up higher and fill up the surroundings! Incredibly the trees can live very well although the forest is flooded!

Looks creepy when it is very dry there!

Here is a small explanation from a journal I found :

http://treephys.oxfordjournals.org

Flooding does not cause water stress in these trees. Submerged leaves that had been under water for between four days and four months generally had photosynthetic rates and leaf conductance similar to those of aerial leaves, indicating maintenance of photosynthetic capacity under water

Amazing, isn’t it?

Hi. You didn’t write. Almost one month! :)

I know this kind of forest. Aku senang merasakan kakiku yang hampir terbenam di tanahnya yang tertutup dedaunan. Tidak akan ku dapatkan di Pekanbaru tentunya, hehe.
